MULTI-FITŪ

PRESENTATION OF PRODUCT

THE SIMPLE, FAST AND MONEY SAVING CONNECTION SYSTEM FOR MULTILAYER, PEX AND POLYBUTYLENE PIPES.

Multi-Fit® is a system whose base is the straight female connector, art. 510, that can be used either alone or together with the Multi-Fit® line of threaded fittings, therefore creating an array of combinations suitable to any installation demand.
Multi-Fit® is particularly fit for the use together with the line of Itap valves and lockshields for radiators and with Itap manifolds.
For the use of Multi-Fit® fittings in case of manifold outlets having female threads, as with the brass bar manifolds, Itap created the male/male adapters art. 518 and art.519 of easy and convenient use.
Multi-Fit® is the answer of Itap to the ever increasing spread of multilayer piping installations.
Now, thanks to Multi-Fit®, the employment of multilayer piping has been made simpler and faster.
Multi-Fit® is not a press-fit fitting; no expensive pressing tool or special equipments are required for the connection, you just need an allen spanner.

CONVENIENT, SAFE AND EASILY REVERSIBLE CONNECTION

Multi-Fit® introduces a new way to joint multilayer pipes and finallyunites the inexpensiveness of the conventional compression fittings with the reliability and the quickness of installation of the press-fit fittings, without requiring any special or expensive equipment.
The connection is totally safe, yet easily reversible with no damage at all to either the fitting or the pipe.

1. Cutting the pipe.
First step is cutting the pipe by a rotary pipe cutter such as art. 675.
Do not use any hacksaw. A slight deformation at the and of the pipe will not jeopardize the result of the installation, but if such deformation is considerable we advise that the  pipe be cut as far as the end of the pipe appears reasonably free from imperfection.

2. Deburring.
It is now necessary to deburr the inner side of the pipe, by the deburrer art. 680. Burrs located on the inner surface of the pipe could make it difficult to insert the fitting, and they might damage the o-rings.

3-4. Inserting the fitting.
At this time it is possible to go on inserting the fitting into the pipe. It is not necessary to ream the pipe at all, as the initial side of the tail, that is conical, works as a reamer and will remove all dimentional irregularities or possible ovaling of the pipe during the installation. It is recommanded not to use any kind of lubricant, as this might damage the o-rings, that are however properly lubricated. Once that the threaded part of the fitting reaches the pipe, it may be started to screw the tail into the pipe, by the spanner art. 570, as far as the thread has completely entered the pipe. You have now carried out an extremely safe joint, yet an easily reversible one.

Multi-Fit® fittings are supplied with an assembled head o-ring. This makes the fittings suitable for installations where they are connected to conical seats (such as, for intance, those of ITAP manifolds art. 455, art. 465, art. 885 or that of the male/male adapter art. 518). In cases when the fittings have to be connected to a male thread with a flat seat you just need to extract the o-ring from its seat, and place the flat washer art. 510NB instead, that is included in the same package of the fittings.
