Standing by women victims of violence

Through the Itap Fund, we offer real support to those working for women’s recovery and independence

Through the “Fondo Itap” managed by the Fondazione della Comunità Bresciana, we chose to support Il Mosaico Onlus, a social cooperative that helps individuals facing situations of deep vulnerability.
This decision is part of our broader company mission: to promote social cohesion, inclusion, and meaningful support. With this donation, we aim to empower Il Mosaico’s project focused on welcoming and reintegrating women victims of violence.

A safety net for women in need

Founded in Lumezzane, Il Mosaico has been active across the Trompia Valley and the city of Brescia for over thirty years. With a team of more than 100 professionals, including members, volunteers and employees, the cooperative works in areas such as education, migration, hardship, and prevention, with a strong focus on supporting women affected by violence.

Since 2016, Il Mosaico has operated two shelters — Casa 8 Marzo and Casa Maristella — offering protection, housing, and structured pathways to independence. These safe spaces welcome women, often with young children, who need refuge and support to rebuild their lives free from violence.

A project for new beginnings: “Dagà’n•tai”

One of the cooperative’s most meaningful projects is Dagà’n•tai: a tailoring workshop designed to offer women in the shelters a safe and educational work environment. Through reintegration internships, the workshop helps them develop professional skills, regain self-confidence, and take concrete steps toward financial independence.

Thanks to the Itap Fund, the workshop has been able to cover the costs of materials, fabrics, and small equipment, expanding the range of opportunities available to women participating in the program.

A valuable voice: interview with director Angela Ottelli

To mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Itap sat down with Angela Ottelli, director of Il Mosaico, for an in-depth conversation about the cooperative’s mission.

The interview highlights the complexity and sensitivity of these protection and recovery journeys, the strength of the women involved, and the real impact of the organization’s daily work.

Commitment and vision: from vulnerability to hope

Supporting Il Mosaico is part of Itap’s broader commitment to social responsibility: strengthening community bonds and help those who work in the most complex situations with professionalism, care, and dedication.

Promoting pathways to protection, independence, and dignity for women affected by violence means caring for the most vulnerable in society. But it also means investing in a stronger, fairer, and more compassionate community.
